This accreditation program will provide participants with the foundational level knowledge required of an entry level clerical/technician position in an assessment administration office. Using STC publications, as well as industry standards and best practices for material and testing, the MAA ARS Accreditation will acknowledge the recipients’ basic skills and knowledge of data entry, policies and procedures in an assessment administration office. The ARS accreditation is a great next step for those beginning their career in Assessment Administration and intended for those with the MCAT Certification, but not required.

Requirements to receive the ARS:

  • Complete 16 hour MAA Assessment Records Specialist Class
  • Pass MAA Assessment Records Specialist Exam with score of 75% or higher

This is not an STC certification. MAA does not guarantee issuant is proficient using BS&A software or interpretation of the GPTA. MAA certifies the issuant has completed the 16 hour course and passed the related exam.

Description - This course is designed for assessors who want to “Cleanup” their database and/ or be prepared for the County Equalization Assessment Roll Audit. No database is the same and every database can be improved. Cleanup can be as simple as formatting punctuation or consistent naming and addressing conventions, to re-constructing land value tables and ECF neighborhoods. This class covers basic reports & exports that may be used to audit information in the database and is NOT a BS&A class, data mining class or PA 660 Audit class. It is created for assessors at every experience level in the assessment administration profession, from beginner to the accomplished.
