Memorial Scholarship Funds

The purpose of these two funds is to assist Michigan Assessors Association (MAA) members whose employers provide no funding for education and who are financially burdened to self-fund educational opportunities.  The funding for these scholarships is made available by the Executive Board of the Michigan Assessors Association and private donations to provide greater opportunities for members to attend educational courses and seminars.  The funding is awarded to any MAA member who demonstrates a financial need, and intends to use the funds to complete an educational activity.

Professional Designation

Stand Out - Make a Difference

An MAA Designation provides an opportunity for property tax professionals to distinguish themselves among their peers in the assessment administration profession. The MAA professional designation also tells your employer and/or potential employers that you stand out in your profession and have achieved a level of expertise that is unique among other professionals.

Certified Instructor Professional

This designation program will provide participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver effective continuing education instruction and/or presentations. Through instruction, coaching and critique, this program will ensure that those who receive the MAA Certified Instructor Professional Designation will be qualified and prepared to instruct assessment administration continuing education courses.

Certified Equalization Specialist

This designation program will provide an opportunity for assessors to advance and distinguish themselves within the assessment administration profession. Through education and experience, each designee will gain and demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the equalization process.
